The Home Inspection Process:

Your Deep Creek Lake real estate agent will make sure that you know and understand your home inspection options while making the offer to purchase the property.  Using an outside third party service to complete these inspections is highly recommended.  Some of the home inspection choices include, but are not limited to, a structural and mechanical inspection, a chimney inspection, a radon inspection, a water quality inspection, a water flow inspection, a mold inspection, a termite and pest inspection, and/or environmental inspections.  Talk with your Deep Creek Lake Realtor to determine which inspections meet your needs and which inspections you should perform prior to closing, in order to protect your family and the future value of the property.     

After the inspections have been performed and all the data collected you will be provided with a report by the home inspection company that you should thoroughly review with your Realtor.  You may decide one of the following:

• A) You are no longer interested in purchasing the property based on the results of the inspections.
• B) You may ask the seller to make some repairs to the property prior to settlement at their expense.
• C) The findings may be minor and you proceed to settlement without any request from the seller.
